Behavioral assessments are a serious business as we are dealing with sometimes difficult hiring decisions and / or professional development practices that affect or influence everyone we lead.
And so occasionally, I find it refreshing to tap into a sense of humor and simply lighten-up. I came across a “10 Questions!” assessment posting on a Psychometric Assessments LinkedIn Group.
I am convinced that too many times we take ourselves, our title or position, and our “expertise” way too seriously and need to simply take a moment to laugh at ourselves, and then get on with it!
Here is the “10 Questions” hiring assessment:
Wow! Ten questions!
Q1. Are you alive?
Q2. Are you sure?
Q3. What fact based evidence do you have to support your answer?
Q4. Is that evidence consistent and accurate?
Q5. See Q2.
Q6. If yes, please define consistent and accurate then jump to Q9.
Q7. If you don't know the meaning of consistent and accurate, consult a dictionary.
Q8. Having consulted the dictionary, refer to Q2.
Q9. Is your evidence consistently good or consistently bad?
Q10. If consistently bad, is it accurate?
If you answer more than two questions in the affirmative (if you are unsure, follow instructions in Q7) then please attend the interview on Friday at 2 p.m. as you are obviously suitable and well qualified for the position.
Wouldn’t you love to use this just once? Now, on with the day! Thank you Jeffrey Bean for making me smile…
